On 12 May, Ms. Li Xingli (Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Secretariat of the Sino-German Alliance for Enterprises and Education (SGAEE)) and Mr. Yang Zhi (Deputy Secretary-General) led a delegation to visit our institution to conduct an on-site inspection and discuss ways to advance Sino-German vocational education cooperation and project implementation. Preliminary discussions were held on several areas of potential cooperation, including the institution’s proposed membership of the alliance, establishing a Sino-German class for mechatronics, applying for the Young Craftsmen Academy, jointly constructing a smart elderly care training base and providing volunteer services for the WorldSkills Competition. This exchange generated valuable ideas and established a basis for future cooperation between the two parties.


On the morning of May 14, Ms. Chen Lu, Secretary-General of the Sino- North Africa Education Innovation Association, and Ms. Li Mengjie, Project Assistant, paid a visit to our institution. Xie Min and Yao Dawei, the institution’s Vice Presidents, together with Lin Jun, Chief Accountant, received the guests. Representatives from the International Exchange also attended the meeting. The two sides conducted in-depth consultations on key issues concerning the internationalization of vocational education, and reached extensive consensus on priority areas such as Chinese + Vocational Skills training, overseas school-running, co-development of curriculum resources, enrollment of international students, and exchange visits for teachers and students.



From May 18 to 23, our institution organized a short-term study and exchange program for students at Kyungnam University in South Korea. The six-day overseas study tour featured a rich and well-structured schedule, during which students participated in a series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of Kyungnam University, attended overseas classes for academic exchange, and visited local cultural landmarks and industrial parks. Through cross-cultural engagement, the students broadened their international perspectives and gained valuable life experience, returning home with a wealth of new insights.

 

From May 26 to 28, at the invitation of the Shanghai Representative Office of the Philippine Department of Tourism, three student volunteers from our institution took part in ITB China 2026, a major travel trade show. Serving as booth interpreters, they assisted in promoting and showcasing the high-quality tourism resources of the Philippines.

    


The 8th “Hanyang-SICFL Cup” Korean Language Skills Competition came to a close at our university on 30 May. Prior to the event, Vice President Xie Min met with Lim Shi-hee, the Consul for Education at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai and Shin Seung-guk from Hanyang University. Xie introduced the university's Korean programme and expressed her hope for the Consul for Education’s continued support. With Hanyang University, she discussed ways to deepen inter-university exchanges, emphasizing regular mutual visits, as well as advancing student study tours and research cooperation.
